Fulham FC - London's Oldest Professional Football Club
There is much more than longevity to recommend a visit to Craven Cottage, the home team, Fulham Football Club, since 1896. Although I have lived a long way from London, Fulham became the first team in the division over what I supported. They had some players then - though it seemed yo-yo between the top two divisions. Johnny Haynes, Tony Macedo, Tosh Chamberlain, George Cohen - all great players, Haynes, one of the greatest ever. Since then, some players also showed great for the villagers at different stages of their careers - Alan Mullery, Bobby Moore, Rodney Marsh - even George Best. The best goal I've seen has been marked by Best in a League Cup tie against Peterborough United in September 1976. Situated at the foot the ball, threw the air and then fell on the progress of the current Manchester United goalkeeper, Eric Steele, of 25 meters. Amazing. I also remember seeing play Fulham in February 1992 - in the 'old' Third Division. There was no better, Marsh or the like on that day, losing 1-0 at home by my side, Peterborough, compared to over 5,000 people, until then, however, Craven Cottage is an ideal place to watch a game. The fans are always passionate about his team and you're close enough to the court in order to feel part of the action. When was Fulham, Mohamed Al-Fayed and support began to move through the leagues, the club had to upgrade the stadium to meet Premier League standards, but the atmosphere is even better than most " big club. " I must admit, however, that sometimes I wonder if the great Fulham fans are sometimes a little back with nostalgia the days when he could reach the land, ten minutes before kick-off, have a cake at a price reasonable and then they are where they wanted to encourage players who often gathered in the city and do not earn more in a week that the supporters would do in a year or two. To an outsider, who does not always seem as if Fulham were able to hold on to some of the traditional atmosphere, however. The cottage is idiosyncratic, still exists - an absurdity in a modern stadium, but an integral part of this. The statue of Johnny Haynes recently announced mixtures because people are on the floor, instead of being elevated to God, as was the way many other states. No, despite its support for rich, Fulham seem to have slept like a club of people more than any other London Premier League - even West Ham. His fans probably still think of Brentford and QPR as their hated rivals - and Gillingham - as well as Chelsea. And with a shrewd manager, Roy Hodgson honest and friendly, also a team that plays attractive football but not committed. If you're trying to go to a party in London, Craven Cottage then give it a try - it's worth. And by the way, is a wonderful place to go see the sailing race.
